Amazon birdwatching in Amapá, Brazil
Tumucumaque Birding is a nature itinerary for travellers interested in observing and photographing birds in forest and river landscapes around Serra do Navio and the Tumucumaque region. Wildlife encounters vary with weather, season and field conditions, so each trip is planned responsibly rather than promising sightings.
Contact the team to discuss dates, group size, activity level and the conditions that apply to the itinerary before making travel arrangements.
Bring binoculars, a camera protected from humidity, neutral clothing, insect repellent, sun protection, drinking water and the personal items requested for the trip.
Keep a respectful distance from birds, avoid feeding or handling wildlife, do not disclose sensitive nesting locations and follow guide and protected-area instructions.
The goal is to observe and photograph without disturbing wildlife. Playback, lighting and any approach to birds must follow the guide’s orientation and the rules in force for the visited area.
Access conditions, authorizations and protected-area rules must be confirmed with the responsible institutions before each trip. See the official ICMBio page for the Tumucumaque Mountains National Park.
